Today was the day! I did my first 10K road race EVER. It was super fun! My trainer Katherine organised a group of amazing women and we did it together. Katherine´s strategy of 5min run 1 min walk helped make it enjoyable until the end. Goal was to do it under 90 minutes and we did it in about 1 hour and 16 mins. Over 3000 women ran the 10K Fem, a Valencia perennial favourite. There is something to be said for the power of an energetic crowd of women to help get you to the finish line. Such great positive energy! The weather was grey and a little rainy and windy, but not too bad. It was actually just enough to keep us cool. There was also fun drums and music at strategic points just to keep us going…I always managed to get a spurt of energy from the drums. Here are some of the highlights. Thank you to these wonderful women for making it so much fun!
